See the sights of historic Clermont located in Queensland’s Central
Highlands from the air-conditioned comfort of our Robinson R44 or Bell206
Longranger helicopter.

While aboard Bush Heli-Services 50min scenic flight, you will enjoy an
informative commentary of the rich history that Clermont has to offer.

Departing our base at 661 Peakvale Road we start our journey towards Lord
Tabletop Mountain, on our flight path we will take in the sights of Clermont.

Approaching first the Copperfield Chimney and original General store.
Clermont was the first town in Queensland to open a Coppermine, running from
1862 the 1880’s. We are lucky enough to still have standing both the
Copperfield chimney and the general store.

Clermont is one of the most historic towns in northern Australia and has a
colorful and engaging past.

While on the flight you will experience a bird’s eye view of the Clermont
township and Hoods Lagoon.

This historic town is filled with evidence of the days of gold rushes,
copper mines, timber getters and stockmen. Clermont is also famously known as
the ‘Town That Moved’.

The showstopper that is Lord Tabletop Mountain will take your breath away
with its sheer size, scope, and formation. It is just one of many volcanic
plugs in the Peak Downs National Park. You will get to experience this mountain
from all angles, The flat top is divided in two, with the smaller plateau,
Anvil Peak, marked at 737 meters, or 2919 feet, presumably being the highest
point, as the rest of the plateau is not given a summit height.

Next on our path is Wolfang Peak at 572m and 172 hectares, is the most
popular peak of the ranges. The slope
below its bare volcanic peak carries an open scrub giving way to open grassland.
The final of the Peak Ranges that you will see on this flight is Mount Donald,
it is located in the northern section of the Peak Range and is a prominent dome
mountain and 755 metres above sea level. Towering 250 metres over the
surrounding landscape, this impressive volcanic formation is spectacular to see
from the air.

As we begin our journey home we will fly over
Clermont Open Cut Mine. It is a marvel to see from the air.

Construction started in
2007 and is one of the largest thermal coal mines in Australia and is still
open and running    today. After taking
in the sights of the Mine we begin the final leg back to the hanger, on the way
you will experience the vastness of the farming landscape both livestock and
crops.

On arrival back to the hanger there will be a chance
of photos for passengers with the helicopters.
